Jubilation was inspired by the waterfall on the North Coast of Australia Minyon Falls, close to Byron Bay. It is the 3rd of 3 pieces in this set. It is in the style of a Toccata (meaning ‘touch’ – a piece that explores a variety of different articulations) and attempts to capture the feeling of excitement and the splashing waters of the falls.
This piece was chosen as the set piece for the Senior Piano Solo Championship 15-18 yrs section of the Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod, 2013. It was featured in Brisbane Girls Grammar School drama production The Book of Everything, May 2014. Also performed in the foyer of the Sydney Opera House as part of Brisbane Girls Grammar School Drama Tour 2014.
